Our Story

For Gabriel and Kimberly Amador, it was Amore at first sight.
The rest is history in the making.

Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria first opened its doors in 2013. It was a bright sunshiny day in Nob Hill, Albuquerque, but many years and miles from the event that actually gave ABQ its first and only authentic Neapolitan pizza. “The idea was born of a chance meeting in 1999, between a Navy girl from Kansas and a guy from Seattle, at a party on Pinetamare Beach in Naples, Italy,” Gabriel explains. “As we fell in love, married, and started our family, Kimberly and I realized the romance and passion of Naples had to play a part in our dream of building something together as a family. Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria is a combination of many things we love: a hand-made, healthier style of pizza, Naples, family and our pride in all things local.”

We’ve moved, expanded, grown, loved, cried and laughed a lot since then. We’ve made many (many) pizzas. And we are as excited to be on this adventure today as we were in 1999.

 

Trained & Certified

The Amadors are trained, certified and mentored by Roberto Caporuscio, Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (APN) President and star chef at both of his establishments: Keste Pizza & Vino, and Don Antonio by Starita, respectively rated number 1 and 2 best NYC pizzerias by Zagats. APN certification is the highest certification for pizza chefs in Italy, and can only be obtained in Naples, Italy or New York City.

Authentic

Italian flour and canned tomatoes. Site-made mozzarella, sauce, pizza dough and bread.

We work with local businesses to keep us up and running strong.

Pasta is well cooked and tasty. Salted as needed and with great ingredients. Home-Made mozzarella is fantastic! Raw ham is the real one and you can really feel like ... you’re having a high end quality pizza!”
